Leeds Bradford Airport is a fast growing regional airport that is currently the seventeenth busiest airport in the whole of the UK. There are fifty operators running 30,000 flights and serving upwards of two million passengers each year. The airport is extremely well located and within easy reach, being only seven miles from Bradford, nine miles from Leeds and just eleven miles from Harrogate.
Bus services to the airport
Unfortunately, a train station is not located within walking distance but a number of bus services, operate to and from the airport. The 757 bus runs from Leeds bus and train stations every half hour during peak times, and hourly the rest of the time. For passengers travelling through Bradford there is the 747 bus. This service runs every hour during peak times.
Airport parking
The airport offers both short stay parking which is situated directly in front of the terminal building that allows passengers to be dropped off and also a long stay car park to allow the option of leaving your car should you wish to drive to the airport ahead of jetting out.
Food and drink at the airport
There is a wide ranging selection of bars and restaurants inside the airport facility, catering from fast food and snacks such as Burger King, Greggs and O’Brien’s sandwich bar alongside the option of more fine dining inside the Food Village. Yates’s and The Lounge Bar offering the option of that pre-flight drink.
For those travelling with the family there is a children’s play area located in the international departure lounge as well as two game grids located in both the terminal building and food village offering a range of computer and simulated games for all passengers to enjoy prior to flying.
Shopping at the airport
For the shoppers amongst you there a number of different shops to experience. The alpha retail store offering a vast array of duty free products, whilst there are also electrical outlets, souvenir shops and book stores in addition to Superdrug in case you need to stock up on any last minute holiday items.
Travelex operate a facility within the airport to order currency to be bought on the day or even picked up if ordered beforehand. The majority of the shops are located in the departures area after going through security control, but there are shops available prior to going through security and in the arrivals area.
Hotels near to the airport
The airport is also well served with a large number of hotels in close proximity, such as Travelodge, Marriott and Premier Inn on the airports doorstep, along with the Chevin Country Park, Harrogate Moat House and Ramada Leeds Parkway nearby.
